Problem

Health apps are used to collect different data from different smart devices and show them to the user. Especially younger generation who has more of these smart devices and are more health conscious should benefit from these apps. However most of these apps are aimless data screens with overwhelming, cluttered information, and no prioritisation or goal setting.

Solution

A connected system within the app that calculates a well being score according to your data stream and mood input. An integrated "Habits" section keeps you more engaged and lets you form and sustain new healthy habits. Every element comes together to form insights for you. Through these features the data shown becomes much more meaningful and the app helps the user strive for a healthier life.

Process

I used a triple diamond method to tackle this project which consisted of five sections.

First Diamond

For Problem Discovery user and market research was conducted through secondary research and interviews. Ideas for a persona started to form. Then I was able to define the problem.

Second Diamond

In Solution Discovery "How Might We" statements were found and a persona was created. Product ideas were establishing. So with Concept Validation I decided on the main features and built a user flow for the app.

Third Diamond

In the third diamond I started off with sketching then moved on to wireframing. After that I jumped into Figma for realising my design and prototyping.

Alex actively uses different health related smart devices so he would want the ability to view all the data in a system. He is interested in new software and hardware so he would try out new stuff. Simplicity and accessibility of the product is important to him.

Likes to be able to interact with the collected data and view it as a whole. Meaningful usage of this data would make him more engaged.

Your well being score is calculated with every smart data and mood input. Your mood plays an important role so it’s crucial to input it at least 3 times a day.

Mood Swings is the chart where you see how different moods you logged every day in a week.
